Hijab - Islamic veil

Post  Seemi on Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:33 pm

The Hijab or the Islamic veil is the Muslim women dress code. Muslim women should wear lose clothes that cover the whole of their bodies, except their faces and their hands.

Yet, wearing the Hijab doesn't mean just putting a piece of cloth on your head; it is an attitude, a way of thinking and a behavior. Basically it constitutes an Islamic way of life; it is a statement which indeed should portray a certain attitude.

Hijab may seem to be merely a woman's issue, but that is not true. Muslim men have to follow a certain dress code too. Muslim men should also wear loose clothes -so no tight fitting jeans for instance, and they should not reveal the part between their bellies and their knees. Also their attitude to all women should always remain respectful and business like, as the women's attitude to men should be.

Allah said in the Quraan:

Oh Prophet Tell your wives and your daughters, and wives and daughters of the believers, to extend their outer garments around themselves, so that they would be distinguished and not molested. And God is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful. (Quraan, 33:59)

we earn respect from the opposite person seeing us in hijab,
... the one wearing hijab should also know her responsibilities when wearing this symbolic veil!

The veil and the blind

Post  Naz on Wed Jan 20, 2010 7:07 pm

Once a blind man came to see the Prophet (SAW). Lady Fatima (AS) veiled herself before opening the door and letting him in. When the blind man left, the Prophet asked her why she covered herself knowing that the man was blind. Lady Fatima replied: "it is true he cannot see me with his eyes, but he can still see me (ie; perceive me) with his other senses". It has been scientifically proven that if we lose the function of one of our five senses the other four tend to be heightened (meaning they become sharper). So what Lady Fatima said, in other words, is that even though he is blind, he can still feel and sense my appearance through his other senses, therefore I have to cover myself.

Burqa? Complete veil or showing face???

Post  Naz on Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:25 pm

The veil, is a symbolic embellishment of a muslim lady

What to say if it is becoming a sharp and rising problems as terrorists are using this sacred veil
for their own benefit???

Should we stop wearing the veil to ease this problem???

Or should we preserve this domination era being done to women especially nowadays?

But if we for some reasons of man's protection and with the intention of decreasing terrorism,
accept for some particular time to partially wear the veil, then?????

Would that be legal in the eyes of Islam??

But if we refuse to unveil will that not mean, we muslim are encouraging people of other communities to be suspicious on us, muslim????

And what about the new law that will be activated: scanners through which our body will be seen???

Commentssssss plz
